ABOUT US

Sirpa comes from a multidisciplinary designer background. Her practice encompasses textile and pattern design, clothing, homegoods, interiors and industrial design. She has built design teams and led the creative direction for product lines and visual marketing. Her first job as a designer for a Finnish textile mill gave her a deep respect for artisanal craftsmanship and local manufacturing.

Sirpa is a designer and artist from Finland, a culture where art and design are viewed as not only complementary, but essential to each other.

Sirpa brings a distinctly fun, but sophisticated approach to the art of product design. She has an extraordinary ability to combine these components as well as exhibiting her paintings in sold out gallery shows. She started iivi line as comfortable stylish clothing, expanded to beautifully made scarves and items with her distinctive patterns. Her style is fun and colorful and displays her Scandinavian roots. She currently lives between Catskill New York and Finland

Katie's journey began near Portland, Maine, where her love for art, nature, and design took root. Pursuing her passion, she attended the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston to earn her degree in industrial design. Over the years, her expertise in color, materials, and design flourished as she immersed herself in the creative world.

Settling back in her beloved home state, Katie chose to create a nurturing space on a small homestead, raising her two daughters with her supportive husband.

Throughout Katie’s home, Sirpa's original pieces found a cherished place, inspiring Katie to share its beauty with the world. Recognizing the uniqueness and allure of Sirpa's pieces, they together envisioned a path to bring Scandinavian art to the market.

Together, their shared experience has created iivi + co.
