iivi Debuts New Clothing Line at Bethlehem Art Show

Earlier this month, iivi revealed several new pieces from its forthcoming spring/summer clothing line at The Maia Papaya in Bethlehem, NH.

For the month of April, iivi’s Creative Director and Founder, Sirpa Cowell, is the featured artist at the cafe and gallery. The show kicked off with a wine and cheese reception, as part of the town’s monthly First Friday festivities. As a special treat, the iivi team hosted a Pop-Up Shop, which gave attendees the opportunity to shop the current clothing line, as well as a chance to preview a few sample pieces from the new collection.

Art Imitates iivi

An experienced artist and designer, Sirpa finds inspiration for her art pieces from everyday life and is deeply inspired by textiles and folk art. Sirpa’s art is an interesting contrast to her clothing designs; her current untitled show is full of brilliant colors and organic shapes. This show also marks her first time taking on human subjects. In her statement for the show, Sirpa revealed that she’s found new inspiration since delving into the fashion world.

She said: “Since the launch of my clothing line I have been more involved in looks at runway models and faces in the fashion world, which has inspired me to start including drawings of faces in my work.”

New Styles, Coming Soon

The new styles aren’t ready just yet, but they will be very soon. Every piece features iivi’s signature neutral palette and minimalist shapes, providing the perfect complement to the current styles. They will also offer more opportunities for you to mix and match your favorite pieces.

Expect to see Kimono-inspired wrap tops, tunics, tank tops, tank dresses, and more. The new line will be made entirely of light, breathable fabrics such as Linen, Cotton, Rayon-Linen and Rayon Matte Jersey – the fabric used in our Box Top and Box Dress. Plus, we’ve created a Linen version of the Wing Shirt (which causes quite a stir at the Pop-Up reveal for its flowy texture and goes-with-everything style). These summery pieces will be a dream to wear in warmer weather!

If you missed the debut, don’t worry: the new collection will be available for sale very soon.

And, for anyone in the Northern New England area, this Saturday, April 22, we will be hosting another Pop-Up Shop at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel & Resort from 11 am to 4 pm. Stop by and meet our team, and maybe take a peek at some of the new styles. We hope to see you there!
